#mindbodymat: Day 2…Pilates Legs + a GIVEAWAY!

Welcome to day #2 of #mindbodymat!

Did you enjoy yesterday’s ab workout? If you found it challenging, don’t get worry! When you re-visit that workout at the end of this challenge you’ll be amazed at how your strength has increased.

Self-Care Challenge

Today’s challenge is all about self-talk…

Did you know that we have anywhere from 400-1400 words of self-talk per minute? Isn’t that crazy?

Most of the time we aren’t even aware of the internal conversation we’re having with ourselves on a daily basis. But if you’ve worked with me in The PBP, you know I believe that improving self-talk is a powerful way to change your habits and more importantly, boost  your confidence.

So today, let’s pay attention. I challenge you to eliminate ALL negative thoughts for one day. When you notice a negative thought, stop, and replace it with a positive one.

I can’t wait to hear how this goes for you.

  1. I would love to treat myself to athleta because I’m obsessed with the catalog! I would put together a perfect teaching-all-day transition to pilates outfit if I could afford to!

  2. Wow that workout was great! Have admit those hinges were a little terrifying… I don’t trust my muscles enough to go back too far haha, but I did my best! Looking forward to tomorrow!

  3. Great workout for my legs this morning! I did it twice in a row! Pinnned it to my pinterest so I have easy access to it. Just started back in to really exercising after making excuses for a couple years. I’d love to get some athlete for more motivation!

  4. I pinned it on my pinterest page which is under chase srivatsavaya. I would love to win this! Having good quality cute work out clothing makes me excited and motivated to work out! I also teach yoga classes so I spend a lot of time in yoga/pilates clothes and it would be so great to be able to treat myself to a new outfit as a reward for completing this mind body mat challenge 🙂

  8. Hi Robin, I’m a caretaker for special needs and I just wanted to let you know that reminding myself to be positive turned what could have been a very bad experience into a good one. As a caretaker, communicating with an autistic child can be extremely challenging at times and frustrating despite the love you have for the individual and sometimes it’s easy to feel fed up. I was at this point with one of my clients today and I reminded myself to be positive, to rethink how I speak not only to myself but my client and I was able to turn the situation around. I just wanted to let you know that your words of wisdom really do make a difference an your message is being heard and appreciated.

  10. Oh man my quads are going to hurt after that one! Whenever I start softball season back up I always pull my quads the first week. Perhaps I should do this all year to keep them strong!

  14. I am so excited to start this new pilates workout! I am always looking for effective workouts that work those legs, amongst the whole body to strengthen myself.

  19. A friend just turned me onto your mini-workouts and they’re great! One question though – what would you recommend to protect my obviously too-bony hips? The tops of my femurs stick out farther than my pelvic bones and lying on my side to do the first few leg exercises was VERY painful. I tried rolling my mat to get more thickness under my hip, to no avail. Ended up popping a pillow under my hips, but then I was having trouble with my alignment. Do you have any other suggestions? Or alternate exercises (maybe in another video) that I could try? Thanks!!

    1. Yes, use all the padding you need! It’s true that it may challenge your stability but it’s important that you’re not in pain. Instead of a pillow a thick, folded blanket may provide more comfort without throwing off your stability too much. 🙂
