What Pilates Can Do For You

I don’t often share testimonials or behind-the-scenes posts but I am once again so proud and encouraged by the women who participated in The Pilates Body Program that I just had to share a few quotes with you today. I share these not to just to show the effectiveness of The Pilates Body Program, but to show you that YOU can do this too.
You can change your relationship with diet and exercise.

Here are a few quotes from women who just completed the 6 week program. Some lost 18+ pounds, some lost none. Everyone had different goals and they all came in with different needs and focuses. But they all came out stronger, more confident and more in control of the way they feel each day.

“I have learned from your guidance and from the support of other women involved in the program that weight is just a number and I don’t need to rely on it to feel good about myself.
Even though I didn’t lose much weight I am a lot firmer than I was in the beginning of the program.  I feel confident in my shorts and feel like my tummy looks ok in a bikini!  I will continue to use the Pilates videos weekly (I am trying to continue with four a week) and will am also making a conscious effort to continue with the meal plan.  I love the meals, easy to prepare and so delicious.  I am planning on repeating the PBP one more time for six more weeks.  Not necessarily to lose weight but just to continue with my healthier lifestyle!
I can’t wait to continue on my journey… I have really enjoyed this experience and can’t thank you enough for all of the support and encouragement.  I will miss our weekly check ins and chatting with you! “Thinking back…6 weeks seemed like the longest, tallest hill to get over but here I am on the other side of the hill feeling better than ever. Yes I lost 4-5 lbs  but more importantly I do not feel bloated anymore and have lost my baby pouch that has hung around for 4 years especially after baby 2. My clothes fit much better wearing jeans I haven’t worn in 4 years! I look and feel more like a woman.  My muscles are toned, long and lean. My stomach has lines and definition I haven’t experienced in a really LONG time and these are the good lines not roles!

Besides the physical changes I have made a mental milestone as well. I am finally happy & proud of my body. I know I made these changes with healthy changes and without starving and doing hours and hours of unrealistic, tiring un-inspiring exercise plans.
The meal plans alongside easy to follow recipes made the plan simple. It taught me to make good filling food choices with excellent snack choices as well. I wasn’t starving which is HUGE!
Moving forward I will continue to complete 4 days of Pilates & continue to walk and bike my kids to the park.  I will not make myself miserable with guilt for not working out or cheating. I love the way I feel mentally, physically and emotionally.

“Before this program I had trouble fitting it all in!  Finding time and something enjoyable to do while the baby sleeps was daunting.  I’ve never been great with keeping up a cardio routine and that is about the only other thing I can manage as a (temporarily) single working mom of an 18 month old. 
After 6 weeks on the program I have less bloating , more flexibility, a stronger core, better posture, better overall attitude, more confidence, and more awareness of how certain foods affect me.   I didn’t lose as much weight as I had hoped to – but that’s because I went on vacation and didn’t follow the plan.  But I DID break through a weight goal I had been trying to reach without success for a really long time. 
Robin is so kind, nurturing, supportive & knowledgable.  Everything you could want in a trainer.  She has discovered this magical formula for fitting a manageable plan into women’s lives to better them without ever even meeting them in person.  One part trainer/instructor/motivator, one part nutrition coach, one part peer support group is a recipe for success in my book!  This type of program was exactly what I was looking for, and Robin delivered in every way.  
Pilates is the only workout that I actually enjoy.  As a “single” mom home alone with my baby when I’m not working – going to group classes isn’t a possibility.  Everything else I can do alone with a baby was a huge struggle for me – video series were repetitive and boring and I’m not a huge fan of cardio.  This program removed the excuses and made me accountable for my decisions.  If you put in the effort and follow the plan you will absolutely see results.” -J. B.
I have an entire folder full of stories like this. I could share pages of incredible transformations. I really don’t say this to toot my own horn but to show you that these real, busy, women are making this happen in their life and you can too.

    I will join in September. I know I am probably asking too early but what is the meal plan like?

      Hi Jodie!

      The meal plan is centered around whole foods that are in large part anti-inflammatory. We focus on eating nutrient dense foods and balancing meals and snacks with protein/healthy carbohydrates/healthy fat. The meal plan suggests 3 meals and 2 snacks per day and is easily modifiable.     Congrats ladies! I am excited for September! I hadn’t done Pilates in over a decade and over a month ago I started doing your youtube videos and it has changed my life! I have lost over 5 pounds and my husband keeps commenting on how much my body is changing for the good! And just like you have said in previous posts if I start my day off working on my body, I make better eating decisions all day!

    Is the meal plan adaptable for vegetarians/dietary preferences? I’m a vegetarian and can be a bit picky (I’m usually pretty open about trying new things, but there are a few common vegetables I really can’t stand), so I’m wondering how flexible it is.

    It’s so lovely to read about how your program benefitted all those women!

    What would you say to someone who is considering moving from the weight room (strength training) to pilates? I feel like the weight lifting has become too intense/taxing for me personally, but at the same time can’t imagine how my body would react if I stopped weights!
