Happy Friday

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance. Chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.”
-Melody Beattie-

I hope your week has been full of good things. It’s Friday, which means it’s time for a little reflection and gratitude. I’m ready for a weekend of rest since I spent the majority of the week feeling under the weather. It was a good week nonetheless, there is always much to be grateful for…

{throat comfort tea}

yogi throat comfort tea

Yogi tea saved my life. I maintained a full teaching schedule with a dry, sore, scratchy throat (I talk A LOT during the day). This tea is a modern miracle worker. Highly recommend.

{pizza & beer}

pizza and beer

Since we try to keep it healthy around here, we NEVER think to go out for pizza. The other night we got a craving and immediately satisfied it at the local pizza joint. It hit the spot in ways I can’t describe.The big enclosed wooden booths made for a perfectly indulgent dinner.

{the thursday paper}

newspaper delivery

We get the paper Thursday – Sunday. Every Thursday when I’m up before dawn I hear the paper land on the doorstep. The ‘thud’ is an audible reminder that the weekend is near (a welcome reminder on my 4th 5am wakeup call of the week). It’s a simple pleasure.

{chicken tacos}

healthy chicken tacos

Discovered a delicious new recipe this week. Healthy. Simple. Satisfying. Details coming soon…

{6am classes}

equinox pilates reformer class

I love my 6 am’ers. There’s a substantial waitlist for my 6am classes so these women have become loyal & ded-i-cated. There’s a sense of camaraderie when we all know we’re up at an unreasonable hour to do Pilates. Their dedication is paying off – teasers & roll ups are looking better & stronger each week. I’m thankful to have such a great group of women to wake up to. And to those of you in the class: rest those abs because you’re going to need them at full strength on Monday morning! 🙂

Your turn. What’s one thing that’s been making you happy this week?

  1. Wow, I refuse outright to teach a class before 9am. Last summer I taught a 6:30am Bootcamp session and it nearly killed me! Of course I was teaching late evening classes the night’s before the class and I’m totally not a morning person which I’m sure was the real issue 😉

    I really need to look into this yogi tea, I’ve heard good things about it before.

    One thing I’m thankful for this week – life. My husband’s grandmother passed away on Thursday and death always makes me feel even more grateful for the privileged life I live.
